    @micheal,

    Hi Michael, in order to show the search icon in the the admin-bar I removed line 974 in the theme-functions.php:

    $wp_admin_bar->remove_menu(‘search’);

    Is it possible instead of removing this line moving this action to the functions.php in the theme child (in order to avoid adjusting the file overtime the theme gets updated?
