Just a general question to gauge opinion / preferences – with Buddypress adding filters to the activity on a users Profile, do you think there’s an argument on some sites to not use the Site Wide Activity page? Even apply a URL to re-direct to it (since you know BP will want to create the page anyway).

The Profile page can act as a hub for all activity related to the user, in fact, I think this works particularly well when using BuddyBoss on a phone.

I can also see the argument for using Site Wide Activity but changing the loop to only show updates from friends.

    I guess it depends site-by-site.

    Any thoughts?

It depends site by site. My members on one site love to see all of the activity because it’s a small forum.. my larger forum moves too much to have that page.. it’s not as needed.

Yeah I see your point there. I suppose Site Wide could be introduced at any stage if you wanted to do that as well. It would be nice if Buddypress had Friends or Following filters that could be applied to Site Wide output so users can set their own restrictions on who can see their updates. It’s a bit all or nothing at the moment.
