    @scottf Welcome to the BuddyBoss community! Do you have any photo editing plugins installed? Try disabling plugins and check for a conflict. If that does not point to your issue please send me a link to a page with this issue.

    it was the “WP User Avatar” plugin. it works with other themes I’ve used, but creates this distortion effect with Boss. thank you.

    well, I’ve already uninstalled it…but it is quite replicatable: just install that plugin and any new activity post avatars have the distortion, when you deactivate they go away.

    @scottf this should do the trick, not sure why they are stretched but this fixes it on the activity page:
    #buddypress #activity-stream img.avatar{max-height:60px;}
