Question
August 4, 2015 at 1:27 pm #43886@surfbuddyHi, When clicking the add photo icon, the pop up to drop or select files is allowing the user to post an update with text only, but without a photo. Is there a way to prevent this and require a photo to post an update from here?

AlyssaParticipant@surfied I’m afraid I don’t see an issue here. If a user opens the media box but then decides not to post media I think they should be able to post just text. Why should they have to copy the text and close the window to post just text? And if they did not copy the text they just lost the entire copy they wrote. Make sense?
August 5, 2015 at 3:09 pm #43920@surfbuddy@tjchester Sure, I hear you in regards to that use case. But, I would like that media box to be used for photos, not posting just text, since it’s displayed as a camera icon. How can I make it required to attach a photo to post an update from here? They can still add text but a photo must be uploaded.

AlyssaParticipant@surfied with the complexity of the BuddyPress post function it would be impossible to create as an add-in on the plugin. It would require completely re-writing the post function to add the javascript validation of the photo addition. I’m afraid this is out of scope of the support I am able to provide and would require custom development.
August 10, 2015 at 11:59 am #44147@surfbuddy@tjchester @vapvarun This is an issue that you guys must fix. It says to “Say something about the photo(s)…” How can you say something about the photo(s) if you’re not even required to upload a photo. Please provide a fix for this to require an upload asap!
Also, the new buddyboss-media update has some bugs. Specifically, the image set to display as large is displaying as small.
p.s. This non ticket support system is so disorganized and turnaround is so slow. For a theme costing over $125.00, this is not the world class support that you have advertised and guaranteed. This is a premium theme, correct?

AlyssaParticipant@surfied this is a function of the Media plugin, not any of our themes. If there are other users who are wanting this as a feature we will consider it further but we are not in the business of creating custom functionality to our products on the request of a single customer. We offer full demos of our plugins for testing prior to purchase and we offer a 60 day money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. If we misrepresented any of our products please let me know where so I can correct that information.
