The drop down menus, that filter different content, don’t appear to be working. (see attached)

When I change the menu, nothing happens. It’s as if Ajax is supposed to kick in and filter the content, but it’s not.

    Anyone else having this issues?

    See it here: http://smboss.wpengine.com/activity/

See attached for plugins, most are the Buddypress recommended.

    Other weird things happening:

    – When creating a group, when you upload the group photo – the cropping area becomes blank. It acts like everythings is there but nothing displays. Same with sending invites on last step.

Not sure if they are related, but I attached a screenshot of that as well.

Hi @sportsmockery, As the plugin list is too long so it will be better if you deactivate few plugins and then recheck the errors:
Deactivate the Decomment plugin as it does not support buddypress
    BPchat
    Lazy-Load
    Animate it
    iflychat

Deactivate all these plugin and check if issue resolve
If you still getting error so please send your site’s details at [email protected] we will check it.

Hi @sportsmockery, Please contact to wpengine as we have checked the site might be wpengine blocking the ajax call. It is common issue by wpengine…..Please also check the error log from wpengine console so I will tell you which query exactly blocking by your hosting.\

    Hi @pallavl,

this is what they said (I sent them the bossdemo link for a comparison):

“The error log is empty. The access logs won’t even show anything, because nothing is being triggered. If a function isn’t even being triggered there’s no way we could block it.
The admin ajax call is not being made on the page. I compared with the URL you mentioned where it is working, and clearly in the activity log when you Inspect Element admin ajax is being called. That admin ajax call is not even being made, so it can’t be rejected by the server.”

Hmm… just found that when I disable “Automatically check for new items while viewing the activity stream” it all works.

But I want it to auto-refresh. Help. 🙂

    Hi @sportsmockery

WPEngine has its limitations. They put a limit on the calls you can make to the admin-ajax.php, since their goal is to optimize their servers performance and they try to kill processes that consume significant resources for them.

You can check our previous thread on same topic.
