Hmmm, the perils of NOT being on Facebook…

When I went to Member>then clicked on a non-friend, there was an Add Friend button on their wall. I guess I use that to ask them to become a friend. Not being familiar with Facebook, it seemed more intuitive, at least to me, to have some way to ask someone to be a friend from my wall.

I was able to make the change, but…

When I copied and dragged the file (footer.php) from parent theme to child theme in the cPanel, the file disappeared from the parent theme. I thought I was making a mistake and this meant the parent theme no longer had a footer.php. Did I make a mistake?

When I go to Groups and select a Group then click on “Send Invites”, a yellowish box with brown writing that states “Select people to invite from you friends list.” is visible. I wondered about how to change the colour to be more inline with the main colour scheme of my theme, which is blue.

I let BuddyPress set up the pages.
Sorry, I misunderstood the meaning of the Activity Directory. I see that it just refers to the widget sidebar that is on the BP Activity Stream page. I see the widgets.

Thanks for the help.

I deleted and reinstalled the parent theme 5 time. On the fifth try, both the parent and child themes appeared in Appearance>Themes. I activated the child theme and have been starting to set up my community site.

Problem resolved.

I uploaded buddyboss-3.1.3 zip. Did not activate it. I uploaded the child zip. It was at that time that I received the “Broken Theme” message. I did not get a chance to activate a theme.
