Update: resolved the issue with the customizer settings not saving to live site. The parent theme saves these settings in the file /css/options.css which I didn’t have. I created that file and made sure it was chmod 755 to be able to save. Works now!

This needs to be a setting with the ability to disable it. I’m using all four footer widgets and on some pages it’s impossible to access them since the activity stream keeps loading indefinitely.

It’s a great feature, but won’t work in all use cases. Thanks for forwarding this to the devs.

Have the same issue as @cody. No modifications in the customizer seems to be applying. Looks fine in the customizer preview but not when the site is loaded. Tried the BuddyPanel colors and a few other settings. Using Boss version 1.0.9.

Would be helpful with a global setting to completely remove the BuddyPanel for those of us who wish to use only the header menu as our main navigation. There’s an option to remove it from logged out users now, but please add this option as well.

Curious about whether you thought about advertising positions when you created the Boss. theme? From what I can tell it’s possible to place ads in the right widget area, but are there any other places designed for this?

@tjchester Thanks for your reply! In my case I believe that the Device Theme Switcher Plugin decides which devices see the mobile versus the desktop theme, but I appreciate the information. If it’s not noticeably faster I think I’ll stick with my current setup.

My site is now live using the Device Theme Switcher plugin and the BuddyBoss Theme in mobiles only. Loving it so far!

I didn’t succeed in loading the same widgets/sidebars to the BuddyBoss theme so I ended upp adding a new sidebar which is for mobile only. Works well for me since on mobiles the theme is in a one-column view anyway.

Hi!

Using BuddyBoss 4.0.7 and trying to change a couple of things in the register.php file. Copied it from the BuddyPress plugin and tried placing it in both /buddypress/registration/register.php and /buddypress/members/register.php in my BuddyBoss Child Theme but that didn’t work. Should it be somewhere else?

@style960 Wow, that looks really promising! Thanks! Looks like it’s easy to use either the same or different menus and widgets for the respective themes using that plugin. Perhaps “Device Theme Switcher” is a better plugin to recommend for BuddyBoss Super Mobile?
