@vapvarun @tjchester I just saw that the update makes the social links into hyperlinks, and hides the ones that aren’t filled out. Really works beautifully now. Much appreciated, guys!!!

@snikay When you have the “BuddyPress Follow” plugin (as I do), the add/cancel friendship stuff gets pushed into the “…” drop-down menu next to Follow/Unfollow. I think it’s much better this way!

I actually customized my own site’s regular pages just like this! I didn’t mess with any of the php pages, though, and did it entirely in CSS instead for each and every page. Although it’s much smarter to do it @jeanpierre‘s way and have it readily available for any new page, so I’d be interested in the code as well…

I just realized (while testing a non-admin user) that the code provided by @tjchester above DOES add those specific functions back for admins, but then REMOVES the dropdown menu entirely for all other non-admin roles. So…I will have to remove that code for the time being and just deal with the annoying extra steps.

I do like the IDEA of the social fields — I just wish they were done a different way, and added more flexibility. If they ever get improved in an update, I’ll happily add them back in then.

Removing the styling not only fixes the ability to visually see what’s being selected, but it also fixed a bunch of weird alignment issues that were happening as well (such as the “Post In:” text appearing AFTER the select box, and other weird spacing issues that were driving me crazy trying to solve).

@tjchester 1). Yes, the previous screenshot I gave was from my ONLINE environment. You can also see just from the Boss demo that even when all social media URL’s aren’t filled in, those fields show up anyway (just empty).

My point was…if I don’t enter URL’s for any of the other fields, shouldn’t those ones NOT be displayed with an empty field? If I only enter one URL, the whole grid still shows up.
