FoxdenVixen started the question Adding vertical dividers between columns on home page in the forum BuddyBoss theme 9 years, 10 months ago
The site I am working on has 3 columns for the home page. A left sidebar, the main content and a right sidebar. My client would like me to add a vertical divider between the left sidebar and content, and the content and right sidebar. I am not sure how to do this. Would I need to add code to the front-page.php template? If so, where and what is…[Read more]

This is the code that I found in front-page.php. I wrapped a div around it but have not styled it yet. When I add the code to the header right under the logo section, it messes up the navigation. Could this be because I have not styled it yet and have not activated the slides? WP can get confusing with all the different pages that control…[Read more]

Thank you. That worked. Now I know how to handle this in WP.

I am hoping that the title explains this. I have a top level menu item in the main menu that has sub menu items and sub sub menu items. I am wondering how to disable the top menu item so that when it is clicked on nothing happens. Is this possible? I know how to do it in a static website in the navigation area but not sure in WP in a theme. I know…[Read more]

I have tried to play around with this. I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly. For each section of the about page, there will be:
.frame-top – this would show up as a background above the header part of the section
.frame-middle – this would show up as a background for however short or long the text section is
.frame-bottom – this would shop…[Read more]

Thank you, Paul. I will give this plugin a try. The Advanced Custom Fields is good but causes me to have to create several custom templates to work correctly throughout the site. The home page will be different than the about page, which will be different than the other pages, etc. After watching the video on this plugin, it seems that it will…[Read more]

I am using the template as more of a CMS than a blog. I would like to add sections to the about page. These sections would be separate and have a decorative frame around each section. The example below is just to point out what I am trying to achieve.
So it would look like this –
<section>

Nevermind, I figured out which pages I needed to use for the child theme. I copied front-page.php, and page-fullwidth.php for now. I will have to figure out what other pages need to be copied over as I get more in depth with adding content.

I am looking at all the php pages that go into a WP theme. It can be overwhelming even for a seasoned web designer. My goal is to add decorative framing around all content areas on the home page (using 3 column php page with left and right sidebar, other pages will have left sidebar, and still others will be fullwidth. Exactly which pages from the…[Read more]

I am replying to this problem as well. I was able to change the php5.ini file in the root of my site from off to on and still get this error. I have deleted the logo and uploaded it again. This is just weird that it worked just fine on another site I had that used version 3x of this template. I know that others are NOT having this problem. I am…[Read more]

Here is an interesting question. What if I wanted to take the slider code out of the front-page.php and put it in the header.php page with the slider being much smaller and to the right of the logo? Is this possible? Plus I would want to turn it completely off in the mobile pages. I do realize that I need to make a copy of both pages in the parent…[Read more]
