@tjchester i tried this code in custom.css Global Styles:

.widget-area .widget_search input[type=text] {
width: 60%;
height: 35px;
/* padding: 0 5%; */
margin-right: 4px;
float: left;
}

but nothing happend…

I have same problem in Chrome with BuddyBoss 3.1.4 (I tried in OSX Mavericks and Ubuntu).
