Thank you for your help. I’m not too familiar with BETA versions – is there anything that I should be aware of when doing updates/making changes to the site? I’ve read that in some cases they can cause issues?

Also, will the BETA versions eventually become released versions? Any ideas when?

I just deactivated everything except the Buddypress and Wall plugin but the appearance link still didn’t reappear. When I then deactivated the Wall plugin it reappeared.

I think it could be the buddypress global search plugin. Would it be a change in that or the child theme search form ?

I found an error in your code and corrected it.

function exclude_category_from_page($query) {

$query->set(‘cat’, ‘-49 -50’);
}

}
add_filter(‘pre_get_posts’, ‘exclude_category_from_page’);

This still does not work . Am I ment to put ‘ ‘ around the page ID?

Is there a way to turn off certain post/blog categories to the blog page as it displays all categories? I want to keep it under the post plugin rather than doing separate custom post types etc. I will be creating other pages with with different post categories but not wanting to show it on the main blog page.

I think this has now worked with woo commerce installed.

I think there is an issue with the blog page as it has nothing displaying on it.
