Resolved this by using a different slug and using the widget visibility function of jetpack to set up sidebars.

I tried reverting back to default to see if was a CSS issue:

You can see when “Forums” is activated in the menu it does not change color, where as any other link in the menu gets a blue background. If I change the slug to “forum” or anything else the the active background works but the forum widgets do not show up.

Just co clear up some confusion, when you say “each page.php” does that mean each page has it’s own template and we can remove individual titles? Also which file do we edit to modify the blogs layout?

There were two members-loop.php
/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/members-loop.php

/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/members/members-loop.php

I tried both files (separately) and tried all 3 variations (was not sure if to leave the single quotes on so tried both…[Read more]

One more thing:
The buddyboss login widget is simple and great. Is there anyway to add the notifications to it (new message, new contact)? then it would be perfect and I wouldn’t need the admin bar at all.
