@michael I’ve contacted the Live Notifications author to see if he can come up with a fix. @leighgregg I’m sure the BuddyBoss guys will get BB Media right given time. You could test this, written by one of the Buddypress core contributors – https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypics/.

Photo support is coming for Buddypress as a native option. This is detailed somewhere on the Buddypress site, can’t seem to find it now.

@jamie771 I would personally recommend this – https://wordpress.org/plugins/jonradio-private-site/. It does what it says flawlessly, although it doesn’t cater for different membership levels. S2 might be a better option if you were looking at that.

@louboulos Do you mean a dashboard area that’s part of a theme options panel? That isn’t part of the BuddyBoss theme, you’d have to ask Michael or TJ if that was coming in the future. @Michael Thanks. I’m not sure this was working on this site earlier today, but I may be wrong. I don’t expect to use BB Wall on the particular site I’m working on, but I’ll keep an eye on it 🙂

@louboulos Custom CSS changes should always be added in the correct place – the custom.css file of your child theme. Buddyboss has two child themes both of which have a custom.css file in the ‘css’ folder. The file is separated by media queries allowing to make changes across different viewports (mobile, tablet, and desktop) as required.

I’m pretty sure that’s new, very recent – possibly added in the last few days. Maybe it’s under testing. That’s exactly what I was thinking of, hopefully that will be extended across activity streams and user profiles. If they could add a live notification system too, Buddypress would be superb.

I’m going to add the @handle at some point. Can’t be more than editing a few template files and adding a little css. Will share when I’ve figured it out.

@denis Download a copy of footer.php, edit as needed, and upload into your child theme. You may need to create the correct folder structure in your child theme for other files, but footer.php can be uploaded directly into there. Your changes will remain after theme updates.

@milena I’ve seen that yeah. To be honest, I’d picked up on this problem from using the forums on here, so maybe it’s a bbpress issue. I did originally suggest this on the BP forum a few months ago and got told to “think Buddypress, not Twitter”. @michael The live notifications issue isn’t BB related. Pretty sure it’s BP 2.1.1 that it’s incompatible with at the moment. Not a big issue since I’m not about to go live, I would expect it’ll be sorted in due time.

@tmg2014 When logged into this site go to https://www.buddyboss.com/my-account/ or click My Downloads from the header menu. You can download the child theme from there, install from the Wordpress dashboard in the same way you installed the BuddyBoss theme.
