Create Google Play Developer Account

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a Google Play developer account. You will need this account in order to release the Android version of your app on the Google Play Store.

Step 1

Navigate to Google Play Console (https://play.google.com/console/signup). Here, you have to click an account type.

Account Type:

The differences between the ‘Yourself’ or ‘Organization’ account types will depend on the information you provide. ‘Yourself’ Google will require your personal information when registering your account and for ‘Business’ Google will require your officially registered business information.

‘Business’ accounts also give you the added extra of adding other users within your account to help manage your app.

NOTE: You can register as ‘Yourself’ if you do not yet have a registered business name, and then later change to a ‘Business’ account.

New Personal (Yourself) accounts are bound to fulfill the testing requirements Google has recently implemented. More information about this here.

About You

Next, you can give a brief statement about any previous experience. If none don’t worry just state this is your first App.

Other Google Accounts

Here, I have selected No, as I have not used any other Google accounts to access Play Console. Then add the domain that you have your Buddyboss app installed on. Hit the Next button

Step 2

On the next page, you have to fill out all the necessary information about your Developer Account and hit the Next button.

Step 3

Now add information about your App. The Number of Apps is up to you depending on your business and how many licenses you may have purchased from Buddyboss, this is not a hard and fast rule so this does not have to be exact. and as you won’t earn from publishing the App select No. Now, choose the App Category that best suits your business model and click the Next button.

Step 4

Agree with the Terms of Google Play Console. If you now hit the Create account and pay you are almost there.

Add your Credit or Debit card with the + icon here.

If you have successfully paid the $25 (this is the price as it stands at the time of writing this article and may have increased since), you will then see a pop-up-

Your Google Developer Account is now created!
