WPML

WPML is a premium translation plugin that lets you translate pages, posts, menus, custom post types, taxonomy and theme texts.

The WPML plugin is a dependable solution for translating your WordPress site. It is compatible with every plugin or theme that uses the WordPress API. You can integrate compatible themes and plugins for WPML with the BuddyBoss Theme and BuddyBoss Platform and run a multilingual social network site. With WPML’s BuddyPress Multilingual you can:

• Translate all BuddyBoss pages such as Groups, Forums, Members, Activity Feed, and Registration. You can let WPML translate pages automatically, send them to be translated by others, or do the translation yourself.
• Translate all the strings coming from the BuddyBoss Platform and the BuddyBoss Theme using the WPML String Translation add-on
• Automatically translate BuddyBoss Groups and group descriptions
• Translate the default and custom BuddyBoss profile fields

Installing the plugin

For the BuddyBoss Platform and Theme integration:

1. Install and activate the following WPML plugins:
   WPML core plugin and WPML String Translation add-on
   BuddyBoss Platform plugin
   BuddyPress Multilingual add-on (also available on your WPML account’s Downloads page)
2. For BuddyPress Multilingual to work, turn on the Different languages in directories option found in the WPML > Languages > Language URL Format.

Translating BuddyBoss Pages

You can translate your BuddyBoss pages automatically (using the WPML credits), send them to be translated by others, or translate them by yourself manually. To translate the BuddyBoss pages:

1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Pages > All Pages.
2. Click the gear icon to edit the translations for the selected language of the preferred page.

3. In the Advanced Translation Editor, enter the translation string in the Translation textbox and click the Complete button.

Translating Other BuddyBoss Texts

All the strings coming from the BuddyBoss Platform and Theme can be translated using the WPML String Translation add-on. 

To translate the text of the BuddyBoss Theme:

1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Theme and Plugins Localization.
2. In the Strings in the themes option, mark the checkbox for BuddyBoss Theme and then click the Scan selected theme for strings button.

3. Go to WPML > String Translation and select buddyboss-theme from the In Domain dropdown. 
4. Click the + button to add the translation for the string for the selected language and then press the Enter.

To translate the text of the BuddyBoss Platform & Platform Pro:

1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Theme and Plugins Localization.
2. In the Strings in the themes option, mark the checkbox for BuddyBoss Platform and BuddyBoss Platform Pro and then click the Scan selected theme for strings button.

3. Go to WPML > String Translation and select buddyboss from the In Domain dropdown. 
4. Click the + button to add the translation for the string for the selected language and then press the Enter.

Translating BuddyBoss Platform Profile Fields

BuddyBoss lets you add custom profile fields to your social network members. You can translate these profiles using WPML and the String Translation add-on. To translate these fields:

1. After creating the profile fields in your default language, click the Register fields button in the notice that appears on the Profile Fields page.

2. Go to WPML > String Translation and select buddyboss from the In Domain dropdown. 
3. Click the + button to add the translation for the string for the selected language and then press the Enter.
