Introduction
The Activity Sorting Option in BuddyBoss allows members to filter and view activity posts based on different criteria.
This guide walks you through configuring the BuddyBoss Activity Sorting settings.
Activity Sorting Options
New Posts – Sorts activity posts based on their original posting time, displaying the most recently created posts first.
Recent Activity – Sorts posts based on the latest interaction.

Accessing the BuddyBoss Dashboard
- Go to your WordPress Backend.
- Navigate to BuddyBoss Dashboard > Settings > Activity.
- Scroll down to the Activity Sorting Section.
Enabling an Activity Sorting Option
- Locate the Activity Sorting Option that you want to enable.
- Select the checkbox next to the filter.
Note: The ‘Newest Post’ filter will always be enabled.
Reordering Activity Filters
- Locate the Activity Sorting Option you want to reorder.
- Drag and drop to adjust its position.
Note: The activity page’s default content sorting is set by the order of the sorting options in your backend settings. For example, if Recent activity is positioned first, the Activity page content sorting upon page load will be by Recent Activity.

Q: Why is the “New Post” sorting option not appearing on the frontend?
A: Ensure that the “Newest Post” option is enabled in BuddyBoss Dashboard > Settings > Activity under the Activity Sorting section.
Q: How do I reset the default sorting settings?
A: Navigate to BuddyBoss Dashboard > Settings > Activity, then disable and re-enable the sorting options to reset their order.
