Question
March 10, 2016 at 5:29 am #62327@uwethwpThe registration via “top-right” register button with switched on “Register/Login overlays” in the settings of SocialOne Theme, delivers a wrong identification code to the user by email.
Account cannot be verified and not used. (Interesting, not even the admin can verifu the account manually from backend, you have to delete it).
The issue I identified is the following: The verification code in the users email is missing a “/” at the end of the code.
If you switch the “Register/Login overlays” off, the code sent is correct and verification is working.
Interesting: the email text you get in the verification is changing, depending of which method you use.
For the developers: @vapvarun @tomchedd: I am using Plugin “Buddypress Member Types”.
Could you please address this?
Thanks and best
Uwe

March 10, 2016 at 11:19 am #62392@georgeallen003Just checked this against my setup. My verification code email looks like yours and I dont know where it is being generated either, its not the Buddypress activate email as I have edited it to look different.
The only difference is my codes are working, although when a user logs in, they get an error because the full activation string is still being passed during login, so it flags an error. If I remove the url, or go to any other page, or refresh the home page, this fixes it.
Not ideal for users though.
I am going to follow this thread since I would like to know where the emails come from and how I can edit them.

RegardsMarch 10, 2016 at 2:13 pm #62421@uwethwpHi @vapvarun, @georgeallen003
regarding the “login – register” issue I found out additionally:
1) To prevent spam I use a captcha plugin called Captcha by BestWebSoft and I tried Google Captcha as well.
The Login / Register via WordPress form includes the Captcha and its working well.
The Login / Register via upper right buttons ignore both the Captcha.2) Same applies for your own plugin “Buddypress Member types” (the form field for member type appears only in the WP register, the upper right buttons ignore the member types completely).
Hope this helps

AnonymousHi @uwethwp, login popup and register is created by js and thus it doesn’t have corresponding do_action to support 3rd party plugin. I have notified developers to to take a look of it again to fix it. I will provide a quick patch shortly for email activation fix.
