Hello!

I have been waiting for the media plugin ever since it was announced. So, is it an album plugin like BP-Album?

• Can users have their photo album without sharing the media on wall?
• Can this work without wall plugin?
• Can I migrate from BP-Album to BuddyBoss Media?

@mairaj at this point we have only simply separated the components into plugins. We will next be working to improve the functions of each to something the entire BuddyPress community will benefit from.

The media plugin will work without the BuddyBoss theme, it will also work without the wall plugin. It will work just like any other plugin. No dependencies.

We do not have an upgrade path from BP-Album as we have not yet implemented albums. I hope we can do this soon.

TJ – any idea how long until albums? I mean, would it be like “weeks,” “months,” or longer?

@mairaj we are currently working on a major version release. I’ll try to add this to that version. I see value in it so I don’t see why we should be able to do this at that time.
