Background Image For Site

If you visit http://www.sundybest.net/kinfolk/ and check our BuddyBoss installation, you will see we have a graphic header, menu, and then the body of the site. The body of the site is white, which I want to stay that way, the area to the left and right of the “white body area” is a shade of blue that I would like to be a background image.

I have read other articles on this site, and they all actually make everything a background, including the white area, which is not what I want?

Any coding help that you can provide?
