Basic questions pls

I’m struggling to understand some very basic things –

– How do I change the homepage for example? Do I change the actual .php file in the hosting or is there a shortcut in the theme?

– Also, how do I change the /courses/ index page? Say for example I wanted to add shortcodes like this:

[ld_course_list col=3]
[ld_course_list order=”ASC”]

Where do these go?

– The same applies for adding widgets to the /courses/ page – how is this done?

Hi @concisecourses,

1- Please go to WordPress’s stiinggs > Reading
and select there which page you want as your homepage (See the attached image)

2- You dont need to edit code just create a page and put you shortcodes there.

3- Take a text widget and put your shortcode into that and select learndash widgets to show them on your course and lessons page.

However I still don’t understand where the page that displays the ‘courses’ is located?

The theme generates a page that is located in a /courses/ directory that lists all courses. Do you know where this is located?

Hi @concisecourses, To edit that you will have to edit the theme template ‘course_list_template.php’.
