Question
June 24, 2015 at 12:24 pm #41601@klubhouseCan anyone tell why I get blank a screen when I log out? I want to see the front end from a normal, logged out user perspective but I just get a blank screen when I log out.
Thanks in advance.

AlyssaParticipant@klubhouse first try changing themes and checking if you have the same issue with another theme active. If all is good switch back to the Boss theme and try it again. If it’s not working with just the Boss theme then disable all plugins and try again, if that doesn’t work let me know. If it does not work with another theme then your best bet would be to request support from WordPress support since the login/out function can be quite complex.
June 25, 2015 at 4:14 pm #41681@klubhouseThanks.
I switched to the 2015 theme and disabled all plug ins. Only Buddy Press is active. Home page loads fine when I log out. But if I switch back to Boss theme, I’m back to a blank page when I’m logged out for the home page.Any ideas? A setting?
June 25, 2015 at 4:27 pm #41682@klubhouseBy the way I’ve got it set to static home page.

AlyssaParticipant@klubhouse I can’t access the link in your original message. Can you provide me with a working link to your site? Or PM me.
June 26, 2015 at 1:29 pm #41725@klubhouseThanks @tjchester
All plug ins are disabled. Only BuddyPress and the Boss theme are active. If I switch it to 2015 theme, all works fine. If I switch it back to Boss, you get this blank blue screen you are seeing at that link.
Thanks for helping. I need to get past this stuck spot today hopefully.

AlyssaParticipant@klubhouse is this the actual website or just a capture of the output? Can you send me a link to the actual site?
June 28, 2015 at 5:14 pm #41829@klubhouseIts the actual site in dev sandbox mode at Pantheon. I can’t get past the starting gate. If I log in, I can work in admin and see the site as if live, but only if I’m logged in. Might I pm you ad admin login for you to see what I mean?
June 29, 2015 at 8:58 am #41852@alyssa-buddyboss
AlyssaParticipant@klubhouse I suggest you try taking the theme out of sandbox mode, perhaps that is preventing the page from loading properly and a possibly quick check.
June 29, 2015 at 4:37 pm #41886@klubhouseI can’t…I’d have to sign up for a paid account which I’m not ready to do. Rats. Seems like it must be something simple. I can’t see any reason why simply installing the theme is causing a blank page.
June 30, 2015 at 8:50 pm #41965@klubhouseI sent you a PM with admin log in details. Not sure how else to troubleshoot it. It must be a theme thing since 2015 works fine? I’m on Pantheon.
The Pantheon dev people said:
One more note: I see that you’re using the buddypress bbpress plugin, and we’re showing an issue with that plugin using PHP Sessions, which are not supported on the platform, and most likely why you’re having so many problems with user login and blank screens. You’ll need to install the Pantheon WP Native PHP Sessions plugin to allow the plugin to operate on the platform. Here are the links:https://pantheon.io/docs/articles/wordpress/wordpress-and-php-sessions/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-native-php-sessions/But my developer looked and said that was not the issue, that it was seeing an old, deprecated bb module which had nothing to do with the blank front page.
Any ideas? I’m really stumped and it’s stopping us from working.
Thanks if you can help or point me towards something that might be the cause…

July 1, 2015 at 5:54 pm #42002@klubhouseI’m thinking I may have to give up on BuddyBoss. If I can’t get past the basic theme install it doesn’t bode well. Everything seems ok when I’m logged in, but logged out I continue to get a blank blue screen.
Here are the errors the Pantheon supprt folks kindly provided. Any clues? Or should I find a different theme? Am I missing something really obvious? Does BuddyBoss not work on Pantheon for some reason?
Here is what I’m seeing logged on the development environment now:

});July 1, 2015 at 8:01 pm #42005@klubhouseAlso if I look at it on my local environment using Varying Vagrants, no problem. But on the Pantheon server, no dice.
If I install a different BuddyPress theme, for example, Evolve, no problem on Pantheon. So, it must be an issue with Boss theme + Pantheon specifically.
July 2, 2015 at 4:08 pm #42034@klubhouseAny help? If Boss theme won’t work on Pantheon I have to find another theme. I’d really like to use Boss but if I can’t get past a blank front page when logged out I’m stuck. I’m not an advanced enough user to figure out that long list of errors and how to solve it.
On my local machine, Boss works great. On Pantheon, no dice.
Can you help? I’ve got to either get it working or change horses to one that works on Pantheon. There must be a way to make it work there?
July 2, 2015 at 6:12 pm #42042@klubhouseAnd this from Pantheon support:

When we switch the theme on the dev site to 2015 for example, front page content appears. We recommend debugging the specific lines being referenced above. I would just comment the problematic bits out. If there is a cookie this theme is setting to log people in, it will need to be named according to our conventions or it will be stripped on requests, and never reach the backend. This might cause any logic based on the results of a cookie being set to fail. Our cookie naming convention is documented here:
