Question
March 13, 2015 at 8:32 pm #37270@
Anonymous@tjchester,
I have a couple issues after updating to 1.1.0. First a super basic issue. The color scheme is not functioning properly. I closed the helpful message that responds to this concern after updating because usually I just have to resave my customization and all is good, but that’s not the case this time. So what exactly does that helpful popup say after updating? Also, I see dimensions for desktop/mobile default appearance has changed. I am on an 11″ Macbook Air and mobile does not look good on it and it happens to default to that. How can I change that back? I tested appearance on multiple different devices and was quite happy with the previous default dimensions.

AnonymousTJ,
Please ignore the desktop/mobile issue for now. I update from 1.0.8 to 1.1.0 and realized there where some bigger updates in 1.0.9. However, I have a feeling I will have a question or two about these css changes. For now could you please tell me what I need to do to get my sites color scheme back to normal? I have chosen the Mint scheme in the customizer and only on the homepage before logging in is there an issue. The header is the deafult color except for the left logo area (which happens to be the green of the Mint scheme). Like i said in the post above, I have a feeling that the message after updating addresses this, but I closed it because I can usually just repudiate my customizer.

AlyssaParticipant@ryanmaler I think you just simply need to click save on the customizer page and it should update to your previous settings.

Anonymous@tjchester saving the customizer page settings didn’t work for the color scheme. Also, as I posted earlier, the default css for my 11″ macbook air is mobile and it does not look good at all with the mobile view. The switch button is present, but I don’t expect visitors or members who happen to be on a smaller sized notebook to have to switch every time they visit the site. Is there any easy fix for that? I understand the added benefits of the new device detection features, but unless I can load by default desktop for everything except for smart phones and tablets I’d prefer the previous media queries features. If there is no easy fix, I was quite happy with things at the 1.0.8 update. How could I revert back to that update? I currently I have 1.1.0 installed and my child theme active.

AlyssaParticipant@ryanmaler all previous versions of the theme are located in your downloads.

Anonymous@tjchester the dimension issue I mentioned earlier in this post has been resolved. I guess in the update to 1.1.1 perhaps the 90% device accuracy may have increased. Not sure though, was not mentioned in the release notes, but on my 11″ mac I get desktop as default which looks much better. However, the color scheme is still giving me trouble and I don’t want to go back Boss versions just because of the color scheme. What could be causing this? The color scheme is accurate (perfect) everywhere else. Only the top bar, before login. Once logged in its perfect. Also, just a check, I switched been schemes and all act the same with the top bar.

AlyssaParticipant@ryanmaler what is your 11″ mac book screen resolution?

Anonymous@tjchester here are the dimensions 1366 x 768, but ever since update to 1.1.1 it has been loading default desktop, which is what I prefer (the mobile didn’t look good on a laptop). The main issue I am having is the break in the color scheme with the top bar before login staying the default color rather than changing to the Mint scheme. All of other areas load the color appropriately. Even the logo area background changes on the front page before login, but not the main protion of the header.

Anonymous@tjchester the issue with the color scheme is the front page is being overridden by the do not display buddypanel to non-logged in users feature. I have the Mint scheme chosen and yet the default Boss color is in the header on the front page because I also have the do not show buddypanel to non-logged in users set. This is then overriding my choice because the main-desktop.css contains:
.page-template-page-no-buddypanel .header-inner { padding-left: 0; background-color: #30455c; }
My rough solution for now was to place the following in my custom.css (just changed the color):
.page-template-page-no-buddypanel .header-inner { padding-left: 0; background-color: #06b39f; }
For some reason the no buddypanel template is taking precedence on the front page. Do you have a better temporary solution (just checking since I’m currently learning)? Is this something that can be cleaned up in the next update?

AlyssaParticipant@ryanmaler I understand your issue now. I have passed it along to the dev. This goes along with some other larger CSS issues since the latest 2 releases unfortunately.

Anonymous@tjchester thank you. I’m sure it will all clear up within the next couple updates. I’m definitely digging the new infinite scroll and ability for site visitors to be able to switch between desktop and mobile on tablets (though I prefer desktop on tablets myself).
