I was wondering if anyone can recommend a Project and (or) Event Management plugin that integrates well into the BuddyBoss Social Learner theme?
I would like a plugin that can be accessed and managed from within BuddyPress Groups and can be linked to a widget calendar. The calendar would serve as a point of interest for students / group leaders / instructors where they can see when the next assignment/class or event is up (also useful for blended learning). On the other hand I would like the same widget calendar to show milestone dates for projects in the specific group. This will mostly be relevant for instructor / group leaders (e.g. deadline for approving assignments, or to-do’s in respect to improving a course) but this could also come in handy for the site developer team. I have a special group for the developer team on my site where we discuss, plan and share ideas for the website.
The closest plugin which I have found that can create events in groups is Event Manager: http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/buddypress/. However for drip-feeding course material LearnDash (Justin Ferriman) recommends Event Espresso. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a BuddyPress integration for Event Espresso. I have found a relevant blog post here: https://wisdmlabs.com/blog/integrating-buddypress-and-event-espresso-for-a-meetup-website/ where WISDMLABS discuss a possible integration. I also find Event Espresso a bit intimidating both in pricing and scope. I need something simpler without extra fees for attending an event. I would rather have students pay for the course and then include events for free inside the course.
The closest Project Management plugin that I have found for creating to-do’s / milestones is WP Project Manager Pro with the BuddyPress Integration (https://wedevs.com/products/plugins/wp-project-manager-pro/buddypress/) but this plugin has been widely criticized here (https://da.wordpress.org/plugins/wedevs-project-manager/)
Perhaps there is a gap in the BuddyPress environment for a simple Project / Event Manager plugin which can administrate:
* tasks
* to-do’s
* milestones
* events/meet-ups (e.g. classroom activities / online video conference?)Any recommendations from the Social Learner community?

I was wondering if you could add any details about the Event and Project management support. Are you working on a BuddyBoss Project/Event Manager plugin or are you focusing your efforts on improving theme support for WP Project Manager and/or Events Manager?

It’s in development It will be take 2+ weeks before we launch it. We are creating new plugins, not just support for WP Project Manager and/or Events Manager

This sounds very interesting. I might just hold off from purchasing WP Project Manager Pro + BuddyPress integration & Events Manager for the time being and wait until I can check out the plugin that you have been working on.

As @mln83 I also need to integrate a good event manager into my LMS, but I find LearnDash supported Event Espresso a … little bit disappointing (saying the least). Could you reveal some more details about your plugin (release date, LearnDash integration)?

I am also looking forward to a simple Project / Event Management plugin. Preferably well integrated with BuddyPress / Social Learner 🙂
Ideally the plugin should have:
* Tasks
* To-do’s
* Milestones
* EventsIt would be great if the date’s could be tied to a calendar widget and as I gather from @bcim perhaps Assignment / Drip-feed date integration would be nice for the Social Learner theme as well.
I know that the BuddyBoss team is quite busy with improving the Social Learner theme so perhaps this is too much to ask for the time being though.

You are probably quite busy with the ‘Double Base Name bug’ but I was wondering if you have an update on the development of the BuddyBoss Project / Event plugin?
I see that Weedevs have 30% off on the WP Project Manager Pro + BuddyPress integration (https://wedevs.com/products/plugins/wp-project-manager-pro/) these days but I would still prefer an inhouse plugin if it’s something you are still planning to develop?

I have also no idea about time but it will be launched soon.
