Can't embed videos in forums anymore

Has anything changed? I can’t embed videos in forums anymore.

@reginawalker it could be anything from a WordPress, BuddyPress, or BuddyBoss Media Plugin update. What seems to be the exact nature of the issue…how were you adding videos to the forums previously? Can you send me a link to the page in question? If the site is private please PM me test credentials.

Well…. today I disabled plugins one by one and re-enabled them. It seems that Smush.it plugin was part of the problem. I can now embed videos in the forums again… but, as it turns out, not on my wall.

Now no matter what I try I can’t seem to post videos on my wall.

Yesterday when I posted in here I didn’t realize that I was also unable to upload images at all. Disabling Smush.it seemed to fix that and embedding videos in the forum.

But what am I missing on posting videos on my walls?

At first I just added the Youtube share link with a sentence before. All I got was my comment and a link to the video.

Then I tried the URL at the top of the page. Same thing.

Then I tried the share link with no sentence. That worked a little better… I got a space for a video… but no video.

Then I tried the embed code… and it did nothing. (although that’s what works in the forum, and not the share link).

@reginawalker I switched themes and the videos do not work on other themes as well. I suggest you retrace your steps on the last few things you added/upgraded on your site. You should probably completely remove any caching plugins (not simply disabling and deleting, remove the ENTIRE cache manually [google this]) and see if that helps. That’s about all I can do since it is not a theme issue, sorry.
