Change title on Archives Page

Hi,

When I create an archives page it says “Archives” at the top” (under the navigation bar). I’d like to change the title to something else. How do I do that?

@flick-chicks you will need to use language file to edit this. Have you changed words before? This plugin should help: https://wordpress.org/plugins/codestyling-localization/

Hi TJ,

That plugin makes me a bit nervous. Hasn’t been updated in over a year and not compatible (tested?) with the current WP version. Plus, it seems to be more than what I need for this small change.

I’m still a newbie so I’ve read some other support forums that talk about replacing the word “Archives” and they mention the archive.php, headline.php, or category.php files but none of the code they suggest to look for is what appears in the Buddyboss files. I know I can copy the .php file and put it in my child theme and make the changes, and it should work. What I just need to know is the exact file to copy and the code where I find-and-replace the word “Archives” with what I want.

@flick-chicks the exact file is archives.php then just do a search for the word
