Question
August 7, 2015 at 4:21 am #43986@rene-streberHi,
we are using buddypress in conjunction with events manager (EM). Registered Users are able to create events. EM allows to create single and recurring events that can be selected with a checkbox. The form will adapt accordingly. That works fine, but the checkbox is not shown for that. Other checkboxes are still displayed such as all-day/ganztägig or for single days of the week.
It is there. I can swith between these to option when I hover over the “hidden” checkbox.
I’ll attached you some screenshots to show you what I mean:
1: first loading of the page, checkbox can be seen (I encircled the checkbox)
2: single event: this is how it is displayed (the select- and checkbxes changed their style), I encircled the place where the checkbox should be
3: recurring event: this is how it is displayed (the select- and checkbxes changed their style), I encircled the place where the checkbox should beHope you can help me?

AlyssaParticipant@rene-streber Please post a link to the plugin. Also post the URL structure where you are adding the event. You do not need to include your site URL somesite.com but everything after that.
August 7, 2015 at 2:32 pm #44013@rene-streberthat is the plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/events-manager/
here is the event posted

AlyssaParticipant@rene-streber your site requires login to access the page you posted. But what I mean by posting the URL structure…are you creating the event in wp-admin (backend) or via the front end of your website?
August 8, 2015 at 3:00 pm #44048@rene-streberthe events are created by the users in the frontend. the event form of that events manager plugin is integrated in the users profile (as an additional menu to notifications, messages, friends etc.).
August 8, 2015 at 4:10 pm #44051@tomastdI’m starting with events manager too. In my case this was the problem:
If you are using the WPML plugin, recurring events are not compatible and they are disabled by default.
When Events Manager is instaled it says: “It looks like you have WPML enabled on your site. We advise you also install our extra Events Manager WPML Connector plugin which helps the two work better together.”
Here is the plugin: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/events-manager-wpml
But after installing it, it says also: “Since you are using WPML, we have automatically disabled recurring events, your recurrences already created will act as normal single events. This is because recurrences are not compatible with WPML at the moment. If you really still want recurrences enabled, then you should add define(‘EM_WMPL_FORCE_RECURRENCES’,true); to your wp-config.php file.”
Hope it will work! (I don’t need recurring events).
Regards.

AlyssaParticipant@rene-streber I see the issue and it is a BuddyBoss function. We will work on a fix, but in the mean time please add this to custom.css:
input[type="checkbox"]{opacity:100 !important;} input[type="checkbox"] + span:before,input[type="checkbox"] + strong:before,input[type="checkbox"] + label:before{display:none !important;}
August 9, 2015 at 9:49 am #44095@rene-streberok, I just copied it into the custom.css

AlyssaParticipantPlease let me know if you have any further issues
August 10, 2015 at 1:13 pm #44162@rene-streberIt is working. Thanks for that!
But, yes I do have another issue.
We use Buddypress activity privacy (version 1.3.6, https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-activity-privacy/)
It adds a privacy level to activity stream component (community, profile, group) in form of a dropdown field (see the screenshot). However, there are two fields displayed although only one is clickable (the left or blue one, respectively). So this is just a style issue, but it is not necessary and a little bit confusing that two fields are presented.
I attached you one screen of the issue and one what is presented if I “examine the element” in Firefox. Hope it helps.
