Home Page Slider / Image

I would just like to have a single slide for the home page image at the top. I tried using only one slide, but it times out, then refreshes the same slide. I then tried {display:none} for the slider, and that worked, but then there was a gap between the top and the image. How can I eliminate the timing and just use a single image as the header on the home page instead of the slider (I still want to use the title and subtitle functions of the slider for this image)?

I would think – don’t use a slider. Just insert an image at the top of your home page.

I tried that, but like I posted, there is a space at the top where the slider should be after I turn it pff

@don4law perhaps this code added to custom.css will help with the whitespace issue:
.home-page .whitespace{display:none;}
