Question
July 1, 2015 at 2:04 pm #41987@leonardoariasHi @tjchester and @michael!
I would like to be able to put the “Original Boss Header” into the Social Learner Child Theme.
Please, check the attached images to see what I mean.
In the image “current-design.jpg”, we can see how the header is for the Social Learner.
In the image “desired-result-1.jpg”, we can see how the Social Learner child theme would look like with the Original Boss Theme top header, and with the search box closed.
In the image “desired-result-2.jpg”, we can see how to Social Learner child theme would look like with the Original Boss Theme top header, and with the search box opened.Reasons:
1) In the Social Learner, the space for the user’s name is too tight, so Instead of displaying the full name (For example: Arnold Schwarzenegger), it displays: “Arnold…”
2) Due to the limited space that there is, when I activate Woocommerce, the “notifications icon” disappears and it’s replaced by the “Cart icon”. There is not space for both icons.
3) I personally prefer the search box in the Original Boss Theme (instead of the “no margins” that the Social Learner has). While it does provide more space, I believe the original margined search box is a little bit more intuitive. This is just personal preference.
Could you please guide me on how we can get this accomplished? Thanks guys!

AlyssaParticipant@leonardoarias have you tried to simply delete the header.php file from the child theme?
July 1, 2015 at 9:37 pm #42007@fabiano-oneSame Problem here….I’ve tried to delete header.php from the child theme but it cracked.
[it would be much easier and helpful to have Social Learner installing tutorial]July 3, 2015 at 8:55 am #42081@
AnonymousHi @fabiano-one and @leonardoarias remove header.php from social-learner plus it will also need to remove all header customization which are added inside social-learner/css/main.css
or you can also comment line 50 inside social-learner/functions.php to test itwp_enqueue_style( ‘child-style’, get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . ‘/css/main.css’);

December 12, 2015 at 4:09 am #54292@unstoppablerecordingmachineThe instructions listed here no longer work with the latest version of Social Learner. How would someone do this now?
