October 21, 2014 at 7:15 am #32757@modulemediaI’ve also have had issues with uploading images to a user profile (we are just testing things before we start development).
I go to user profile / Photos and upload a photo. The photo displays initially, then if I leave that page or refresh the photo is removed.
October 21, 2014 at 7:37 am #32758@leighgreggI found the double file select also happened on my laptop as well as other devices.
October 22, 2014 at 1:30 am #32799@milenaI have a problem with the chrome on iPad upload. iOS 6, latest chrome.

AnonymousOk, thanks. Yes Chrome for iOS is having some trouble, would be same issue on iPhone and iPad.

AnonymousThumbnails on the profile page Photo section are squashed versions of the whole image.
What browser do you see it like that? Screenshot? The thumbnails should show as thumbnails, not distorted…
October 23, 2014 at 2:57 pm #32877@leighgreggIt is chrome on iOS laptop. I have attached screenshots, hopefully they will upload within your small file size quota…
One is the image full size, one is the thumbnail. it isn’t the best image for an example thoughOctober 23, 2014 at 2:58 pm #32878@leighgreggnope, my screen grabs are too big. please increase the size allowed.

Anonymous@leighgregg I’ve increased file size maximum to 2mb.
October 29, 2014 at 2:32 pm #33081@leighgreggI have added the screenshots.
I am finding the mobile loading on android not functioning at the moment, using chrome. Just hangs at 100%. I wait for ages in case it is the server being slow, but nothing. If you try and type something, and then post, it says “please wait, while the upload is completed” or something like that. You select ok, and just wait. you try again, with some text in the post, while it still is stuck at 100%. Then the text gets posted, no photo, or it just jams up completely. Refreshing the screen shows nothing, It just seems to be falling apart. It still uploads on my mac, with chrome, but again, incorrect loading % sign is confusing to the user. and sometimes just doesn’t show up until refresh. Which just isn’t good enough.
This plugin just does not seem to work…. are there any good, easy to implement, study, activity stream unloaders out there? Can anybody recommend something better? Without a timeline for its turn around on this plugin, I am ready to give up on this and find something that works. Event using their own buddyboss theme, it just does not function enough to be usable. I have tried rtMedia and Activity plus which were both bugged up.
October 29, 2014 at 3:02 pm #33085@style960@leighgregg I’m sure the BuddyBoss guys will get BB Media right given time. You could test this, written by one of the Buddypress core contributors – https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypics/.
Photo support is coming for Buddypress as a native option. This is detailed somewhere on the Buddypress site, can’t seem to find it now.
October 29, 2014 at 4:56 pm #33086@leighgreggHi. I appreciate your sympathetic tone. But I’d use that in the case of children or students. I have been in talks with buddyboss about much larger projects but am losing faith they can deliver working products. Let alone much more complicated products.
Such plug in a like essential grid are only a little more expensive but are surprising powerful, complex and work….well. I’m happy to pay for a working product. It a shame those developers are not taking on custom work.
I’d like actually to find out about refunds for this product Buddyboss Media as it simply doesn’t do as promised.
Thanks for the pointers. I will go and look again at your suggestion. I think I hoped to avoid ” working to get a plug in working” with the buddyboss media plugin but I guess I’m back to the drawing board on that one.
October 29, 2014 at 5:11 pm #33090@style960@leighgregg I’m in agreement on BB media, the other products here I think work well, and have good longevity providing a solid base. I’ve had the BuddyBoss development team quote for writing a series of plugins integral to the site I’m putting together because there’s nothing available that can deliver what I need. I guess it’s down to personal judgement who you choose to do the work. My primary focus is a team who have a proper handle on how Buddypress works, not just a WP developer, which are much greater in number.
Maybe I’m slightly more fortunate in that media for users isn’t essential for me. I would expect things to get better when it’s part of the core…
October 29, 2014 at 5:18 pm #33092@leighgreggYes. I liked the theme once I understood a couple of unexpected bits. It attracted me to the Dev side. But the issues I am having are showing a lack of care which makes me very concerned and cautious. Promting me to look elsewhere for other stable providers.
