AnonymousSorry you have been disappointed with BuddyBoss Media. We offer full refunds, if you’d like one please contact us here and fill out the form for a refund: https://www.buddyboss.com/contact/
We are working to fix the bugs. We had a long beta tester period for these plugins and for whatever reason, this bug was never discovered. It may be related to some updates in mobile Chrome. In any event, we will get it solved, but I would like to see you happy with your site and if rtMedia or another plugin provides the most stable solution for you at the moment, I understand.
@style960 Thanks for all of the kind words in this thread. We are working on fixing this plugin!Answers
October 31, 2014 at 2:37 am #33128@modulemediaJust so you know, this bug is not restricted to mobile chrome. I’ve tested on desktop multiple times and any images uploaded do not display straight away. Sometimes they are not uploaded at all and sometimes it takes about 5 minutes or more for them to display. It was a couple of weeks since I last tested but will do some more testing asap.
Thanks.

AnonymousOk thanks. I’ve still never seen it fail on desktop in Chrome. Seeing that it gives some progress (even 5 min) makes me thing it’s on the server end, but even that should be solvable.

This should be fixed in v1.0.7, available now:
I was able to reproduce photo uploading failing on Chrome for iOS and Android, and can confirm it is fixed there. We’ve added some logic for fallbacks, related to html5 on some browsers, especially mobile browsers.
November 10, 2014 at 5:46 am #33326@modulemediaThanks @tjchester, seems to work for me now too. 😉
One thing I’m not sure about is how to ‘edit’ the images once uploaded to the user profile area. I know I can click on each img to launch a modal and have clicked on the little ‘edit’ icon at the bottom of the screen but that just takes me to a page that says the content is protected and can only be accessed by members (this is when I’m logged in as admin).
Is there any way to delete the images from within the admin perhaps?
The thumbnail images in the screenshot below are the ones I’m clicking on…
November 11, 2014 at 3:54 pm #33353@leighgreggWorks Ipad and chrome. Not working android mobile on chrome or dolphin browsers. Haven’t tried anything else yet.
November 11, 2014 at 5:26 pm #33358@style960@michael I see upload errors as being solved. However there are still three obvious problems for me:
1 – While photo uploads show in the activity stream, when I open the profile of the related user and select photos, the count is zero. Tested on desktop and mobile, vanilla BuddyBoss site I’ve quickly thrown together to test this – style960.com/buddyboss. Only active plugin is BB media.
2 – There is nothing intuitive for a user to know they need to use the Buddypress update box to insert their desired title. I missed that myself with the first two uploads before figuring it out. That can’t be edited once uploaded without a title.
3 – Uploaded photos are shown in the activity stream at their actual pixel dimensions, which for large images looks crazy. I can only imagine what the activity stream would look like with a range of users on a live site.
Sorry, this plugin really isn’t for me. Hopefully others will find it useful.

AnonymousWhen you click the Edit icon, it’s actually meant to be a comment icon. It takes you to the items permalink page where you can comment. As an admin you can delete that post from there as well. You should see a Delete button next to the comment button.
To edit an image, go into your dashboard as admin. Then go to the Activity panel. The media uploads are all actually activity updates. You can find them in there and change the entry text or image URL in the editor.
but that just takes me to a page that says the content is protected and can only be accessed by members
I haven’t seen that before. Maybe you have some membership plugin doing something there.

Anonymous@style960 Glad to see that upload issues are solved. That was the major bug, which allows us to focus on other things now.
1 – While photo uploads show in the activity stream, when I open the profile of the related user and select photos, the count is zero. Tested on desktop and mobile, vanilla BuddyBoss site I’ve quickly thrown together to test this – style960.com/buddyboss. Only active plugin is BB media.
This does not happen for me. I wonder how to reproduce it.
2 – There is nothing intuitive for a user to know they need to use the Buddypress update box to insert their desired title. I missed that myself with the first two uploads before figuring it out. That can’t be edited once uploaded without a title.
True. We’re basically just adding an “Add Photo” option to activity. I’d like to have a more intuitive solution eventually, maybe a popup overlay type of thing that requests a title, shows a video preview, etc.
3 – Uploaded photos are shown in the activity stream at their actual pixel dimensions, which for large images looks crazy. I can only imagine what the activity stream would look like with a range of users on a live site.
They should max to the width of the activity stream. I guess if it’s wide and tall it’s pretty big.
Sorry, this plugin really isn’t for me. Hopefully others will find it useful.
Sorry to hear.
November 15, 2014 at 10:34 am #33482@leighgreggFurther to not working on Android mobile, on BuddyBoss theme, the upload works when the device is in landscape, but not when in portrait. It doesn’t matter if the picture is landscape or portrait, but it the device is landscape or portrait when upload is started.
November 21, 2014 at 2:25 am #33583@milenaI tested the uploading process on an iPhone 6 and the latest google phone. So safari works fine, chrome is still problematic on the iPhone .
