Question
November 16, 2015 at 10:46 am #51851@onefreeinternetHello there,
I am trying to wrap up my tinkering with the visual issues of my website. It’s more than time for me to move on and focus on other plugins but unfortunately issues keep pulling me back here to buddyboss 🙁
Here is a list of the problems I’m encountering and I’m looking to put them to an end once and for all:
- I was told that the menu titlebar problem has been fixed – it really hasn’t. I have updated boss every time you released an update, and downloaded a new copy of social learners from my products page. The issue is not fixed. It looks good on the home page, and then breaks on every other page badly (see attachment).
- The buddypanel cannot expand at all, clicking the three line menu button does nothing. It remains collapsed, or expanded, whatever I set it as, in the default.
- The buddypress global search does not work for all users. It finds some, and then others are not found at all. When I’m taken to the results page, it still shows up as 1 in the members, but the actual member does not show. (see screenshot)
- When I am searching for something using the search bar, and I click the ‘Loading Suggestions’ bar if nothing comes up, like most users do if a search takes too long, I’m taken to a 404 page.
- If a user does not have permission to set their profile visibility because of the type of user that they are, I think it would be best to not put it as an unclickable link, it interferes with the accessibility and user experience. Even if I can get a code snippet to remove this ‘feature’, I’ll be grateful.
Please help me deal with these. It’s been too long that I’m dealing with these same issues since I purchased this theme, despite the many, many updates you guys release. 🙁
Thanks,
-CAnswers

AnonymousHi @onefreeinternet, Please submit your login details at [email protected]
We will cross check all the points and will suggest proper solution
Privacy is detail feature of the BuddyPress, You can enforce profile Field privacy from each individual field setting.
For Header Menu fixed we will need to inspect your other pages.Global Search New version is released yesterday and please update it and try it again.
Regards
Varun DubeyNovember 25, 2015 at 7:02 am #52700@onefreeinternetThank you Varun,
1. I’ve installed the new version of Global Search yesterday. None of the issues concerning that problem have been fixed. Still 404’s, failed searches and ‘ghost’ user results.
2. The buddypanel on the home page can’t collapse. In fact, not only is it stuck there but it’s sitting on top of the content instead of having the content be automatically sized next to it, like it used to. This issue began after a boss theme update.
Yes, I know you can force privacy that way, but the issue is that the links are still visible when i have made that option unavailable to certain users. For users who do not have the privileges to edit their profile visibility, these ‘links’ are not clickable, and really have no reason to be there. It’s misleading, and not user friendly.
The title bar is finally fixed, though 🙂
I am mailing you the login details now. They are the same as those I gave you via private message a while back, but feel free to check your email to verify.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzv-k-FcE80iMzk2aE5JcDIwOE0/view?usp=drivesdk

5) Profile visibility issue is buddyPress issue, hopefully they will fix in future updates
RegardsNovember 28, 2015 at 9:53 am #53003@onefreeinternetHey Varun,
Everything checks out fine except the revolution slider. I found that the revolution slider settings was the issue, when I set it to ‘full’ it does not adjust size when the buddypanel is open.
The code you placed there caused the revolution slider of the homepage to disappear on desktop websites.
Can you please revert the changes you have made to the theme files and whatever other changes you have made to the homepage itself to remove the slider? I would like it back the way it was, because it’s not working properly this way.
I prefer to keep the pages designed and controlled by visual composer. Thank you anyway. 🙂
When I try to put the slider back in visual composer, I can’t. All I see is
*\
showing where there should have been the slider.note: I already removed the following code from the homepage template:
<!-- Frontpage Slider --> <?php echo do_shortcode('[rev_slider alias="openhero"]'); ?>
November 28, 2015 at 4:25 pm #53019@onefreeinternetVarun, if I upload or change an image to display the home page using visual composer, it doesn’t show. No new media shows on the homepage successfully, unfortunately. I don’t know what other changes you may have made but if you could tell me I would appreciate the help to get it back the way it was?
Also, the events calendar page is showing this series of symbols on mobile websites (it does the same on my phone) and with every click, more symbols show up. There’s something in your code that’s causing the issue, I think, because it had not happened before. Please see screenshot.
-CNovember 28, 2015 at 5:16 pm #53023@onefreeinternetAck, and I’m sorry to come back again but the buddypanel randomly changes colour when I expand it. When it’s collapsed, the colour of it gets cut off some ways down the page. Can you help me address this too?

AnonymousHi @onefreeinternet, sorry for delay
For the codes I had made edits only at Frontpage template files.
I still need some time to check your site again.

Varun DubeyDecember 1, 2015 at 5:28 pm #53368@onefreeinternetYes, please restore the front page template to what it’s supposed to be. I can’t repair the issue on my own and the site looks broken as a result, unfortunately..
Thanks

AnonymousHi @onefreeinternet,You cache and CDN configuration was not done properly that’s why you were getting issue.
I have deactivated them for a while and check your site now.
None of js and css was loading thus site was displaying as brokenRegards
Varun DubeyDecember 2, 2015 at 1:29 pm #53506@onefreeinternetThanks Varun:
The buddypanel still has the colour changing issue. When you get a chance, can you check that out for me?
Thank you,

AnonymousHi @onefreeinternet, When you are already using Boss minfy setting
Then there is not use to add any other minify plugin
I have deactivated auto optimizer yesterday and today Better Minify is enabled at site 🙂https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxzNBu6bZdtHSXJfcWdMTzZHSWc/view?usp=drivesdk
If you added any additional minify plugin site will not display and functional well

AnonymousYou were using 3 minify settings
1) from w3 total cache
2) from Better minfy plugin
3) Boss theme option minify settingAsk your developers just use 1 not all of theme 🙂
