Question
February 26, 2016 at 1:43 pm #60335@loretteHi There,
I changed themes from Marketica Storefront to Boss to OneSocial. An issue I began to have after switching to Boss and it continues in OneSocial is the image size for featured images both on my blog posts and Event posts (I have Event Calendar). When I first changed to Boss all of the featured images changed (even old ones) to a larger size that distorted them. I had to go in and resize each picture one by one. A few I had to totally change. I notice now that my event featured images are doing the same thing. I never had a problem with Marketica or any other theme formatting the pictures automatically. It is way too much of a problem to have to resize each picture, as they come from sources I have not control over. Is there some box I need to check or something else that I missed?
Thanks so much for your help.
Lorette

AnonymousHi @lorette, Please use following plugin to generate all images in correct sizes.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Hopefully it will help to resolve your issues.Regards
February 27, 2016 at 4:45 pm #60507@loretteI actually already resized the thumbnails manually. After looking some more at the forum regarding image size I realize that it is the cover image that is showing at the top of each post and event. Basically my featured image is showing up twice-once large and often distorted as a cover image and then normal size as the featured image. I put in the code to take out the cover image in the posts and events and this works but it now is showing my title in large white font behind the beginning of post. If I remove my title it goes away but that isn’t good for SEO. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

AnonymousHi @lorette,
If you need to hide featured image for a while let me know i will provide corresponding css for it
RegardsMarch 1, 2016 at 2:07 pm #60967@loretteHmmm. I don’t think hiding my featured image is the solution I am looking for.
The issue is that the buddy boss cover image that displays at the top of each post and event looks bad. It’s distorted and blurry and huge. I have looked at the websites of others that have posted on here and it is the same on their sites. Also, when I share a post on Facebook, the post pulls from the large cover image and so it looks bad too. Any different suggestions?
Thanks,
Lorette
March 2, 2016 at 5:00 pm #61187@gavinsAlso finding this to be a major issue – ideally the featured image would be displayed based on the best size available, and to appropriate dimensions, rather than stretched to full page width in all cases.
April 12, 2016 at 5:07 am #67781@dreemlilI agree this is a major issue. When doing some investigation into the demo site I found the images are 1440 by 600. While it is great to be able to display wallpaper size images it is moreso problematic because we too are unable to control the quality and sourcing of all of our feature images so to expect everyone to be able to provide a quality image at full screen size is not at all realistic.

AnonymousHi @dreemlil
We have kept it inside our suggestion list to add some additional options.
