Question
June 8, 2015 at 1:30 pm #41099@jfabulaHey I have been testing my site; womultisport.com . Loving the boss theme. That being said I was hoping someone could offer me some advice. I had someone register who told me it was very difficult to find the add friend button. I realized that it was missing on the profile page (image attached). After going through all the plugins it looks like its the Site Origin page builder that is causing it. I don’t know anymore than the fact that when its active the follow/unfollow buttons are missing on the profile page.
Any help is very much appreciated.

AlyssaParticipant@jfabula can you explain your site setup in a little more detail? You say the user can’t find the “Add Friend” button but then you say the “follow/unfollow” buttons are missing. Do you have the friend component enabled or not? Do you have the follow plugin installed or not?
June 12, 2015 at 5:11 am #41199@jfabulaSorry about that. I mentioned the follow/unfollow button because I was looking to the demo site as an example since my site was showing no buttons on the profile page. I added that plugin so now I have follow. If the member is a friend I have the … dropdown with the option to cancel friendship. If not a friend nothing but “follow” appears. I am still missing the add friend button and the private messaging option. All buddypress options are enabled including the friend component and the private messaging. The site is live. womultisport.com. Thank you for the response. I hope I have provided enough information.

AlyssaParticipant@jfabula There should be a button directly to the right of the Follow button with 3 dots. That is a dropdown menu to Add Friend or message the user.
June 12, 2015 at 7:42 pm #41230@jfabulaRight. It’s not there. I’m looking for some help trouble shooting why that may be. I posted the link to the site if you want to look at any one of the member profiles.

AlyssaParticipant@jfabula I suggest you try disabling plugin to see if there is a conflict. The theme is not causing these items to be removed.
June 14, 2015 at 9:50 am #41262@jfabulaYes. I have done that. See initial post. This is the only plugin, that while active is causing this issue. I’ve posted in their support and here since in the tutorial it was stated that the theme was designed to work well with this plugin. The demo site is working fine with it, could you please think of any reason why mine would not.

AlyssaParticipant@jfabula if you are using a child theme try activating the parent theme. Perhaps you have a code error preventing it from loading, if that does not work try uploading a fresh copy of the theme. You can also try updating or re-installing BuddyPress. If you switch to another theme like TwentyFifteen do you see the dropdown?
June 14, 2015 at 2:16 pm #41269@jfabulaThanks for the suggestions. I tried the TwentyFifteen and there is no add friend button there either. I activated the parent theme no luck. I deleted both and re loaded new copies of the theme with no luck as well.
