Question
July 9, 2015 at 4:30 pm #42395@alphamarkHello gentlemen,
Is this a known bug? I have purchased the Boss theme just recently, and it is an awesome piece of design. I love it. However, I wonder if this a known issue. If so, how do we fix it?
I am developing on localhost (MAMP). I have only a small number of basic plugins running, and no other themes. There should be no conflicts. (see screenshot.)
I have tested the situation on Chrome and Firefox (on OS X). In both cases the BuddyPanel does not appear for Logged out users, even though the radio button in the customizer “Show BuddyPanel” is in fact selected. (see screenshot).
I’d appreciate any help, and keep up the wonderful work that you do…!

July 10, 2015 at 8:06 pm #42459@alphamarkWell, through trial-and-error approach, I was able to find a work-around.
So if anybody else is having the same problem, I’m documenting my solution:
- Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Desktop Options.
- Click to select Hide BuddyPanel
- Hit the button Save & Publish.
- Go back to the same place in step 1. Now select Show BuddyPanel.
- Hit the button Save & Publish.
This procedure seems to have reset the BuddyPanel initial setting back to normal following the very first initial installation of the theme. After the procedure is performed once, the Customizer radio button to Show/Hide BuddyPanel will work properly.

AlyssaParticipant@alphamark Welcome to the BuddyBoss community! Sorry I was not able to return to this issue quick enough but I am glad you were able to resolve it easily. Thank you for posting your fix.
July 13, 2015 at 1:16 pm #42581@bentasm1It’s certainly a bug, just had to figure this one out too, and the post above was the hack that let it work.

Cheers
July 14, 2015 at 9:32 am #42628@bentasm1PS — Most of the widgets I placed while the theme was installed but not activated in the customizer did not take place when the site was published either. Related or unrelated, I dont know, but FYI. 🙂
Boss is quite the nice theme. Probably the nicest I’ve ever purchased.
