    hi,

when buddyboss wall plugin is on,

PRIVATE group updates (forum or feed) do now show up in the user’s “news feed” tab.
only the PUBLIC group/forum activity shows up.

it shows up in the general activity page – under “my groups”, but that one has buddypress tabs (not buddyboss wall)

if buddyboss wall is turned off, i can see the private groups activities in my profile again. (under “my groups” tab).

    Hello @tjchester @milena

I am experiencing the same issue as well. None of the updates from the private group show up in the user’s news feed. Is there a fix for this?

    Thanks.

@vosypa we are working on several smaller bugs across all of our themes and plugins. No update yet, sorry.

@milena the devs looked at the issue, thought they fixed it but it is not. I am sending it back to be fixed correctly. I’m not sure yet what they thought they fixed.

@vosypa @milena after further testing I have confirmed that this has been fixed, but in order for it to display I had to switch to the 2015 theme then back to BuddyBoss version 4.2.0. Please let me know if you still have issues.

    Hello @tjchester,

I can confirm that it works, however I cannot make it work in my case, because the translation issue of “you posted an updated” versus “Milena posted an update” hasn’t been solved yet. I am using the old wall-hooks.php file you helped me modify, and I guess that the changes that the latest update made are in that file.

@milena I have posted a high priority update to be able to revert back to “[member’s name] posted this” this should be in the next release of the plugin due out soon.

@tjchester, could you ask the developers also to look into giving an option to revert to the previous, buddypress way to “add a forum to favorites” instead of the word “like” that buddyboss introduced? many users find it confusing, since in their profile the forums they “liked” are still called “favorites”. So they don’t know that “liking” the forum adds it to favorites, and look for it in the liked activity” instead of “favorite forums”.

@milena it is actually a bug that I can hardly believe went unnoticed for several years by all BuddyBoss customers. I think this would be easier than undoing the like function of the plugin because once you remove that and the activity wording then all you are left with is a custom news-feed with content only pertaining to you. It would be easier just to do that than undo the majority of the plugin. Make sense? Would changing the favorite wording to like in the forums be an acceptable solution?

    @milena

@tjchester that’s actually not a bad idea (“liked topics”), the question is will the users understand that by “liking” the topic they are saving it. The old “add to favorites” is kind of self explanatory..
I didn’t mean canceling the whole like function, just adding a separated text domain for –activity liking– and –adding to favorites– in forum’s topics.

Hi @milena , Like functionality is hard coded inside the plugin. On the basis of action if that activity belong the bbpress we need to add conditional updates there. I have added it to our to do list.
