Problem with activity feed updates

Got a complaint from one of my users.

I’ve noticed lately that the person that originally posts a message has their name replaced by who responds to it. The only way to find who the original poster was is to click on their profile photo.

Also the activity updates timestamp is no longer a clickable link, unless they are from a group, BBpress, Profile update. All the replies timestamps are OK though.

@raytronx can you verify this isn’t a plugin conflict. Are you using bump to top plugin?

I tried creating a staging copy so I could start deactivating plugins, etc and on the cloned staging copy the problem is not there when creating new updates, the old ones are still bad but they must be in the database.
Weird because it is an exact copy. Leads me to believe it is a server problem? … but obviously its not BuddyBoss. Thanks

I’m having the same problem and I AM using “bump to top” plugin. TJ, what did you have in mind when you asked about that. I really like this plugin, though, so I hate to deactivate it.

I also noticed that activity stream page (which I used as the front page) is not giving me an edit option.

This is a known, documented bug.

Weird because it is an exact copy. Leads me to believe it is a server problem? … but obviously its not BuddyBoss. Thanks

Could be a database issue. Does it happen for every user, or just one user?

Hey guys i have the same problem with plugin bump to top plugin, its happen with buddyboss wall, i think bump to top is very important for buddyboss theme, a lot people found this theme because facebook style, i found this theme with this example, i’m happy with Buddyboss but this error with this plugin is so bad for me, my social network, works only image, around 100 photos published per day i need that good pictures stay on the top when comment and have more and more comment, @michael, I ask that you look with good eyes for this solution.

We’re looking into the “bump to top” plugin issue. Hopefully there is a clean fix. That plugin hasn’t been updated in 3 years and BP activity functionality has changed drastically in that time period, so we shall see.

Thanks for looking into it. I think it would be a great add-on premium feature for the BB wall plugin. I’m using the 3 year old plugin without BB wall and it still works OK. I miss your “likes” feature though. ;(

The issues with original poster name being replaced, and conflicts with Bump to Top, are resolved for the next release coming out this week.
