    @creativediego

    I want users to join a group/forum automatically without requesting to be in it. I keep changing the group settings to Public, but when I update, it goes back to Private.

    I deleted the group for a course and then created a new one. The group was set to public, but when I assigned it to the course, it turned back to Private. I can’t seem to turn it back to Public because it keeps resetting to private.

    Hi @creativediego, @toppointmarketing
    Course specific group will be private and a public group will also be converted to private if it is linked with a course.

    @vapvarun,

    How do I change this so that students don’t have to request to join the group? I want them to automatically join the group and forum when they sign up/start taking a course.

    Hi @creativediego, Course linkup with group is coded in same format, to lock down course specific discussion to a particular group of students.

    If any member will join the course they will be part of group. Student do not have to request to join the linked group.

    You can also create standalone public group without linking to courses.

    THE PROBLEM is that users have to request to join the course forum. This is annoying. I want them to join the course forum automatically. How do I do this?

    Here’s a screenshot for my previous post. You can see that users keep having to request to be part of a course group forum even though they’re already part of the course. I do not want users to have to request. I want them to automatically be able to join.
