Question
March 5, 2015 at 1:39 pm #36843@msutyler2Hi,
How do I set up a redirect that goes to the login page if the use is not logged in already? Currently, my site just shows the blank template?

March 5, 2015 at 3:14 pm #36858@style960@msutyler2 I would recommend one of two options here. If you want to have paid memberships look at S2 plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/s2member/. If you just want to restrict the site to logged-in members only, I would try Private Site – https://wordpress.org/plugins/jonradio-private-site/. To go with those two plugins you can also restrict menu items to a Role if you needed to do that as well – https://wordpress.org/plugins/nav-menu-roles/.
March 5, 2015 at 3:22 pm #36860@msutyler2Hi Paul,
Thanks for the response. I am using PMPro to restrict content on the other site in my multisite. The users from siteA.com get access to siteB.com/community , aka the buddypress site. The issue is that everything on http://www.siteA.com is correctly locked unless you are logged in. But when you go to siteb.com/community, when you are not logged in, the blank template of bossTheme shows.
So just so I understand you correctly. There is not a feature within buddypress like a checkbox “Users Must be Logged In” or “If User is not logged in send to Login screen”.
Because you can also type in http://www.siteA.com/community/members/user1/ and it will take you to that users profile page. This seems odd to me that non logged in users can have access to the entire community?
Thanks again
March 5, 2015 at 4:40 pm #36870@style960@msutyler2 I’ve not used PMPro but Private Site is to be extended to include MultiSite networks. You’re correct in thinking Buddypress has not default function to restrict access. Odd I know. I would ask the question on their support forums, or have a search on there. Pretty sure this will have been asked before.
March 6, 2015 at 9:56 am #36889@msutyler2Thanks for the recommendations. I was able to use Jon Radio to do what I partially want. It does redirect to the login page and I’ve used an URL converter to hide the wp-login.
Would love to redirect to an external page aka Site A but haven’t found a plugin that has worked yet. But this should do for now.
Thanks again.
