Question
May 23, 2015 at 8:46 am #40521@tradingpremiumHello,
Is this a known issue or purposely designed into the plugin? On the fifth reply, I am noting that the reply button disappears for the last post. Any help fixing this issue would be great!
This can be viewed at: http://tradingpremium.com/activity/
Thank you,
Brad

AlyssaParticipant@tradingpremium I’m not certain if this is plugin related of BuddyPress related but you can see every reply tree is indented. Imagine indenting going on forever–you run out of room on page so it must be limited at some point. Also, I’m not certain you are using the comment correctly. Like Facebook, you should comment from the main activity NOT from the new user activity unless you want to start a new sub-conversation tree, on topic but separate conversation tree.
May 24, 2015 at 6:03 am #40577@tradingpremium@tjchester, I understand your argument regarding the indentations — it makes perfect sense. My users seem to intuitively be responding to the last message. Given that this is an intuitive response, perhaps the wall plugin could be given a feature to prevent nesting beyond 1 indentation and have every reply thereafter indented only once?

AlyssaParticipant@tradingpremium I’ll submit this request to the developers.
May 25, 2015 at 3:49 pm #40638@gloopyI too have just noticed this and i am pretty savvy, i cannot see another way of replying to the members comments

AlyssaParticipant@gloopy I understand, since we removed the word comment versus reply it can be confusing. You should be replying to the original post, not the sub tree post. We should have this soon, either by removing the indentation of replies or correcting the icons/text.

AlyssaParticipant@gloopy too soon, the developers haven’t even looked at it yet. Once they look at it and review the complexity of the issue I should have a better indication if it will make the next release.

AnonymousHi @tradingpremium, @gloopy WordPress already has a built-in setting for comment depth, this was a natural fit for activity comments and did not require adding any new settings. BuddyPress 2.0 now respects WordPress’ comment depth settings. You can adjust them in the admin at Settings > Discussion > Other Comment Settings.
Now you are able to add any limit there.Regards
