Question
September 10, 2015 at 3:33 pm #46151@onefreeinternetHi all,
One problem is this – users on my site can’t save all the social networking links to their sites that they want to. Only twitter and pinterest saves. When you type in the URL for another social network like Google + or Facebook, saving it doesn’t work. The fields become blank again.
How do I rectify that?

AnonymousHi @onefreeinternet, I have not found any issues there
I am able to save them on my test site and also at your website.

Varun DubeySeptember 13, 2015 at 4:43 pm #46240@onefreeinternetFound out the problem @vapvarun –
ONLY if you copy and paste the URL in the boxes exactly as they are they save. If you type in (like most people do) the URL from memory, omitting the https:// before the URL, it does NOT save. I could tell everyone to make sure they type https:// or http:// before their page links but the truth is, it makes it less user friendly and most people just don’t do that. So what do I do? Where’s the code that enforces the URL’s to start with the page protocol?
tl;dr: why is it if I type facebook.com/mypageishere as a URL it doesn’t save even though typing it into a browser’s address bar works? And more importantly, can I get around that? would like it to be more friendly to our users because it took me a few tries myself to figure out.

AnonymousHi @onefreeinternet, Social links field is added as url field thus it will need https or http
We will add https/http placeholder there to avoid such confusion

September 14, 2015 at 10:10 am #46264@onefreeinternetOr, you can just make it plain text and leave it up to the browser to figure it out 😀
