Question
April 9, 2015 at 1:05 pm #38715@grantnelsonHey guys,
Just bought this and testing it out.
All good so far!
One thing I’ve noticed that I’d like to change is the fact that when one person posts directly onto another persons wall, this activity shows up on the site-wide activity page.
It doesn’t make any sense for any other users to see this activity on the main page as it’s not relevant to them, also it doesn’t say anything descriptive.. “username wrote on wall 12 seconds ago”. That means nothing to anybody!
But most importantly, it is going to clog up the activity stream with useless posts, which is in turn going to annoy the users pretty quickly.
How can I stop those activity items from being posted on the main activity page?
Cheers 🙂

AlyssaParticipant@grantnelson you are not able to stop data from being posted to the global activity feed. It is exactly that, ALL site activity. You could edit this activity to show only what you want but that is a BuddyPress issue since we do not edit the feed. Here is the BuddyPress codex to edit the global stream: https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/loops-reference/the-activity-stream-loop/
April 10, 2015 at 1:55 pm #38768@jgwolfensberger@tjchester – didn’t the feed used to say “User1 wrote on User2’s Wall?” Lately mine says “wrote on Wall” with no references to usernames. Do I have an issue or did an update change this?
Thanks man!
