Question

AnonymousHi chaps, i recently change hosting to wpengine.com who obviously are WP experts?
Well since moving there i have had the following issues, which are strange and as far as im concerned are caching issues on wpengine side.
So here goes, will do my best to explain what is and isn’t happening.
1. On the activity page, the photo button doesn’t appear
1a. On the members page / profile it does appear2. When a member replies to a post on the activity page and then a member uses the reply button, nothing happens or if it does it opens the page again as if clicking a link to go else where.
2a. When a member replies to a post on the members page / profile, you guessed it….it works perfectly and the little drop down box appears3.some members comments are being posted twice?
Obviously i’m being directed to you guys and buddypress as the tech i spoke to seems to think there are big issues with buddypress and WP 4.0?

AnonymousI should have mentioned that i have done everything possible to find out what’s causing it, changing theme, clearing the wpengine cache, and used the wpengine staging area.
Im now going to try one thing i didn’t do and that is to uninstall buddypress and re-install again, incase there was an issue with the transfer, not that there should have been one.
I also [pointed out that the customise area has also stopped working since the move to the new hosts, but they then stopped responding in support chat.
I will get back to you guys with the results of my endeavors into the unknown :p

AnonymousOK guys after a lot of stress and throwing things around in cyber space the hosting company in question held their hands up to this issue and its now been fixed, for anyone else out there who may come across the above problems with wpengine just mention to them the following ‘WordPress HeartBeat API’ for one reason or another they ‘throttle back’ and ‘limit’ where this API works on websites, they have fixed this for me and it wasn’t as previously suggested a theme / plugin issue 🙂
