    Please review the $5/mo plan by Digital Ocean (www.digitalocean.com/) VPS Hosting, and suggest us if its

    * Good/Bad for Buddypress Webhosting & Boss Theme
    * Good/Bad for managing 100-1000 users profiles over a period of 1-6 Months, with lot of user activity streams
    * Good/Bad for Running Personal Media Content on Server (5-7 GB) & a lot of Embedded Media from Soundcloud/Youtube/Imgur
    * Good/Bad for Apache SOLR Search Module

    We are a startup & about to deploy our website coming this week. We plan to upgrade the Hosting Plans to $ 20/40/80 based on user activity results. Also, please suggest us the factors people normally look out while powering up startup-social networking site.

    @akhilvij Based on your site I would recommend the $10/month plan. The server resources for a media site with uploads and videos etc will require more resources. The $5/month plan has the minimum server requirements recommended for any BuddyPress site. Once you add the media component you will need the 1GB RAM. Look for the RAM, uptime, features you are looking for, Plesk, cPanel etc. Transfer speeds of media.
