Question
January 3, 2016 at 8:51 am #55420@mln83I hope that you have been enjoying the holiday 🙂
I have been researching a bit on the latest trends on the forum and in the social learner community in general. The following are some recommendations for the future version of Social Learner.
Backend BuddyBoss menu: Add Social Learner panel. Option to enable MENU or COURSE DISCUSSION button. Option to choose layout integration (STANDARD – current layout, MODERN – inspiration here: https://www.buddyboss.com/support-forums/topic/feedback-on-recent-update-boss-buddypress-for-learndash-1-0-5/)
More inspiration here:
WPLMS: http://themes.vibethemes.com/wplms/skins/modern/course/starting-a-startup/Nice points from WPLMS: Events integrations, Rating integration, Frontend Course Creation, Front end dashboard for users to view course achievements / progress.
Dedicated front-end page with Course Overview in same stile as ‘Members’ and ‘Groups’ pages: Search Course, Create Course (e.g. using conditional logic with support for WISDM Labs Front End Course Creation plugin?).

January 3, 2016 at 12:40 pm #55429@mln83For Course rating it would be interesting if GD Rating System (PRO) was supported – https://wordpress.org/plugins/gd-rating-system/ and https://rating.dev4press.com
For better forum integration have you considered support for GD bbPress Tools https://wordpress.org/plugins/gd-bbpress-tools/ and https://bbpress.dev4press.com?

MichaelJanuary 3, 2016 at 2:23 pm #55444@mln83As for events integration I have noticed that @vapvarun was working on a solution for a BuddyPress integration (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/make-the-calendar-buddypress-compatible/)
The Events Calendar looks really neat. It’s a real shame that they haven’t made it BuddyPress compatible yet. Any news on how far you came to completing the BP integration? 🙂
January 4, 2016 at 5:08 am #55473@mln83It would also be great to have an option to enable/disable Course by… from the backend admin panel as I have noticed some users wants to hide it.

AnonymousHi @mln83, Happy New Year
We are working on most of point mentioned above
1) Events integrations : we are working with Event Manager plugin earlier we have started with The Event Calendar and built the plugin for it but The Event Calendar changed their core codes thus it because useless for us. Event Manager plugin approach is stable.
2) Rating integration we already have integration with BadgeOs and i will also keep GD rating in our suggestion list.
3) Front End Course Creation, Front end Dashboard : We have also started on it for Learndash, It will be part of Boss for Learndash
4) Instructor and multi Instructor will also be part of future version , development is already started on it, It will be part of Boss for Learndash
5) Course By : I have added it inside our current developmentPlease wait for while, We are keep planning/executing on new functionalities.

Varun DubeyJanuary 4, 2016 at 8:25 am #55491@mln83Hi @vapvarun,
Thanks for the quick reply.
1) Sounds great. I believe you are right that Events Manager is a more stable choice.
2) I was unaware that BadgeOS allows for user rating as well. I will check it out in due time. I have been testing GD Rating System and it works quite well (see attached image). I need to implement some code to show ratings on the Course Overview page – I might work on that later this week.
3+4+5) Sounds great.I look forward to see what you come up with 🙂

AnonymousBadgeOS do not have user rating , it have user ranking only
RegardsJanuary 4, 2016 at 2:57 pm #55518@mln83Ah thanks for clearing that up 🙂
GD Rating System might come in handy then for course ratings.
January 5, 2016 at 5:10 am #55563@mln83I have been testing Events Manager a bit including the associated Events Calendar widget (http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/wordpress-event-widgets/). There are a few shortcomings to the widget. It would be great if you decide to include support for Events Manager to create a BuddyBoss Calendar widget that could pull information from Events Manager and LearnDash/Sensei LMS.
Case – Calendar widget placed in group: Could show Group Events, Course dates (drip feed content, assignment deadlines).
Case – Calendar widget placed on user profile: Could show relevant events and course dates to that user. Get information from groups associated with the user.
These are just some suggestions. Feel free to use and share.
Best regards,
Michael
