Question
June 13, 2015 at 9:37 pm #41245@davidrsmHey! Brand new user here — I’m very impressed with this theme. I can definitely see me hiring you guys to do some custom work on it for my team.
In the meantime, I’m trying to set this up to have a clean, simple navigation menu (on the left).
Right now, there are *3* places for them to access Groups, Forums, etc.. and I want to narrow it down to JUST the buddymenu. (See attached photo — PINK ARROWS)
1) I don’t even have a Profile menu configured but it’s still populated. How do I remove Forums & Groups from the profile menu? I tried creating a new profile menu but it just adds new options to the bottom of the existing menu.
2) When viewing the default Forums or Groups page, there’s this giant header with a cover photo (from my profile) AND addition navigation links (see attached photo with yellow box around it). How do I remove that?? It’s just extra “noise” in my opinion and I’d like to remove it.
Thanks!!

AlyssaParticipant@davidrsm Welcome to the BuddyBoss community! Before you go about removing any links here I should explain what you are seeing. The 3 links on the only screenshot attached are not all the same. The link in the left menu (BuddyPanel) and the right menu (WP Toolbar) are the same. The middle link is a link to YOUR groups and only your groups. When you click on that link you stay within your own profile and the cover photo is a reminder of that. The right link is difficult to edit because that is within the WP toolbar and serves as a shortcut for all social links within your website, think of it as a sitemap if you will. The left link is your main site navigation we call the BuddyPanel. These are the link you want to drive your users to and typically the most used links on your site. I hope this clarifies the issue a bit more so do some more thinking about it and let me know how you want to proceed.

I went ahead and changed the menu on the left to point to /forums/ instead of /members/davidrsm/forums/. I’ll leave the rest alone for now.

AlyssaParticipantSounds like a great solution. I hope the rest of your site build goes smoothly 🙂
June 21, 2015 at 5:14 pm #41446@davidrsmThanks – I’m rushing to launch this week with ‘draft 1’ — then I want to talk to you guys about some customizations. It’s a pretty amazing platform that you guys have created here.
