Remove Friendships from Activity Stream

Hi guys –

I’d like to remove new friendship notifications from the activity feed.

I’ve tried:

remove_action( 'bp_register_activity_actions', 'friends_register_activity_actions' );

But that left a blank line item with the two friends’ names and no text. I inquired of another support forum and was told:

The heme you are using is pulling activity stream updates as posts and not using the BP Activity Loop. It would make sense at this point to check with the developers of your theme if they can modify the filter to use the Activity Loop for you?

Are you able to help me with a function to disallow friendship notifications from appearing on the Activity feed? Thank you!
