Question
February 4, 2016 at 12:55 pm #58121@franceHello,
I would like to translate my website in French.
I followed instructions on your videos and support…
I have copied the .po & .mo in the child theme language folder (see enclosed image)
(And I also added a sub folder for buddy press traduction files)
Nothing has changed since.
Do I have to do or activate something else ?
(please note that I’m a novice with wp and do not know coding)
thanks

AnonymousHi @france, Please put those files inside language directory
wp-content/languages/plugins/
folder.Regards
February 8, 2016 at 3:12 pm #58562@franceThanks for the info,
but it looks like I do not have the same structure…(I do not have the folder «language» directly inside the wp-content folder, it is inside the child theme)Here is where I put the files (and what my structure looks like) :
wp-content/themes/boss-child/languages/
It was suggested in your tutorial videos that we place the files inside the child theme (not the boos theme) to protect the website traduction when the next theme update will be done.Still need some help,
February 9, 2016 at 10:11 am #58649@franceBonjour Jean-Pierre,
Merci !
February 9, 2016 at 1:23 pm #58684@franceHello Pallavi,
Still need your help with this.
As I explained in french to Jean-Pierre… I should have said that I wanted to activate the french language (to replace the english language) for my website (instead of using the «translate» term).
I checked what Jean-Pierre suggested : .mo and .po files seem to be at the right place (wp-content/themes/boss/languages/fr_FR.mo).
I have changed my wordpress settings in french (from the admin) and this portion is ok (wp is now in french).
But the «Boss» and the «BuddyPress» still show in english.
Thank you in advance for your help,February 10, 2016 at 11:12 am #58841@franceHi Pallavi,
If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate.
Just need this language thing to be done before going to the beta testing of the website with members. Thanks !

I think I’m on the way to the solution

February 15, 2016 at 4:19 pm #59355@franceNot really… I still need your help !
I found out it was the folder permissions that was my main problem.
But now the translation is very partial.
Some words in french, a lot still in english. And it looks like the portion of the BuddyPress that is not working.
I did place the .po and .mo files of the BuddyPress in the « wp-content/languages/plugins/ » as you suggested… but no result.
Will be waiting for your advice,
Thanks
