Question
December 11, 2015 at 1:49 pm #54260@ianclaytonI’m logged in as an administrator.
A member has requested to join a BuddyPress group.
I am at the notifications page viewing all notifications in the mode of an administrator.
I see the red bell with the new notification.
I also see a single line { username} requests group membership. (http://university:8888/members/the-university/notifications/)
However, when I select that line I receive a 404 error page not found.
The link is looking for the following page reference:
{website url}/groups/{group name}/admin/membership-requests/?n=1Here is what ia actually is – I am on a MAMP domain on my desktop – local:
http://university:8888/groups/concepts-and-methods/admin/membership-requests/?n=1Any suggestions?
This error means I am unable to set up a group in ‘private’ mode.

AnonymousHi @ianclayton, Please try to enable the default WordPress theme and to access the same url from notification section.
It might be some BuddyPress issue or any plugin conflict.
RegardsDecember 14, 2015 at 2:45 pm #54432@ianclaytonBut doesn’t that disable the current theme – is this something you want me to do too test? When I activate a default wordpress theme I get blank pages…!

AnonymousHi @ianclayton, It’s little bit hard to debug when you are localhost.
You will need to debug yourself if it is not a general issue which can be replicated.
Save the permalinks setting again to flush the rewrite rulesDo not make any changes at permalinks, just save them again
