Question
July 30, 2015 at 8:52 pm #43623@familybudgetingHi, I’m really liking this theme so far but some configuration details aren’t obvious to me.
1. Search across the top menu. In the demo (http://demo.buddyboss.com/social-learner-sensei/) the search button appears on the right of the top menu. When clicked, it opens and you write across the space where the menu was previously. But when I install the theme, my search area is a small designation area on the left of the top menu. How do I get it to appear as in the demo?
2. When you’re working through a lesson on the demo, the right sidebar is beautifully presented. (Eg http://demo.buddyboss.com/social-learner-sensei/lesson/subdividing-musical-math/). The title and progress areas are in their own neat box, and the sidebar has a series of tones of blue that looks great. I can’t see how to configure the appearance of that sidebar at all – the widgets or the colours.
(I looked at the video tutorial which mentions a “Layout” section of the Customise screen to select your colours, but I don’t actually have a “Layout” section in my Customise screen…?)
3. When I enter content into the Sensei sections, my lesson content displays without any CSS applied – no paragraph spacing in particular. How come? Do I have to add styles manually in the Custom CSS section?
Otherwise things are pretty straightforward and I got my site looking presentable fairly quickly 🙂
Cheers,
Mike

I’ve nothing to do with BuddyBoss (I’m a user) but I believe you should :
1. Install https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-global-search/ (as mentioned in the tutorials) and it will work as showned
2. and .3 : Make sure you’ve installed https://wordpress.org/plugins/sensei-buddypress/ (as mentioned in the tutorials)In addition for 2 : Please install (WOO Plugins) :
http://www.woothemes.com/products/sensei-course-participants/ (free)
and http://www.woothemes.com/products/sensei-course-progress/ (free)To keep those plugins updated :
Woo Helper : http://www.woothemes.com/2013/11/the-woothemes-helper-is-here/Hope it helps….
EricAugust 2, 2015 at 2:39 pm #43780@familybudgetingHi Eric,
I appreciate your reply.
Regarding Buddypress global search – this is installed but doesn’t appear like it does in the demo. Are there configuration options I’m missing maybe? The only settings I can see don’t appear to control the place it’s displayed and how it behaves – only what it searches.
Sensei-Buddypress is installed too. To clarify, I *do* have a course progress widget displaying, it just doesn’t display like the one in the demo.
And the lesson content CSS is worse than expected.
Cheers,
Mike

Varun DubeyAugust 6, 2015 at 8:17 pm #43964@familybudgetingHi, just to wrap this up – I thought I had installed correctly, but it turned out I hadn’t. Once we activated the Social Learner child theme, everything started working as expected.
Case closed 🙂
Cheers,
Mike
