Login anywhere with URL?

I figured that if I copied the link from the standard login button (http://guildofbuild.com/legitballers/register/) and used the link elsewhere on the site it would send the user to the registration page.

Instead, it redirects to my site’s root login. To be fair, I am setting up the main site, legitballers, as a subdirectory of my root. When it’s ready for my client I will move it over to their root.

Is there a more intelligent way of inserting a register link throughout the site?

@legitballers must be some kind of setup issue since the fall back link: http://guildofbuild.com/legitballers/wp-login.php?action=register also redirects to your root domain. Shouldn’t have the same issue when you move it to their root but you would need to contact WP for support on this one, it’s not a theme issue.
